Question by shh: Is it possible to only have insurance on the business and not on the car?
I am starting a home cleaning service. The car I will be using is my parent’s car. The car has my parent’s insurance on the car.
I want to have insurance on the business in the event that I mess something up but do I have to move the car over to my name so the car can be insured under the same policy as my business?
I am from Illinois

Answer by efflandt You do not necessarily have to own the vehicle. But you do have to be listed on your parent’s policy and you have to make sure that the insurance company is aware of the business use of the vehicle.
If you are going to put any graphics on the vehicle about the business, that is best done with magnetic signs (provided the body is not plastic/fiberglass or aluminum). That makes them easy to remove or move to another vehicle when you get your own.

Question by chocoroco: Can you get in trouble for running a small business without insurance? In WA state?
My boyfriend and his friend have a small car detailing business that they started themselves. I’m pretty sure they have a business license. However, they don’t have any form of insurance. Can they get in trouble if they drive the clients’ cars without car insurance or something for their business? What happens if they damage one of the vehicles if they have no insurance?

Answer by Rebel Yell Insurance mainly covers you in the event you are sued. Lawyers cost $ 200 – $ 500 per hour plus court fees, dispositions, and witness fees.
Insurance companies hire lawyers to fight for you.
Question by bmwdriver11: How does one go about getting Business Insurance (state of Ohio, City of Hamilton)>?
My wife is going to be starting a Psychology private Practice LLC in the state of Ohio, Butler County, city of Hamilton. She has already obtained malpractice insurance, but she also needs business insurance. So, my questions are:
Does the Agent that sells me my homeowners and car insurance sell business insurance as well, or is there a specialized Agent we will need to contact?
Are there any Web price comparison/online Application sites that can be used for business insurance?
Answers from anyone with knowledge on the subject is appreciated!

Answer by traceilicious I was a business administrator for a small specialty dental practice in Sharonville before I moved to NKY and we used to have our Business Insurance, as well as the docs car insurance and so forth through Clark Theders Insurance Agency. They are local company and I had no problems with them whatsoever. In fact, I would recommend them to anyone because they were always so helpful and knowledgeable. They are very good about with medical type of practices from small to growing practices.
They are actually located in West Chester. Their phone number is 513-779-2800 and their web site is ctia.com.
However, if you are well established with another company I would call them and see if they have business insurance, I believe most do.

Answer by Thatdudenextdoor well to give you an idea. Lets say you give insurance to only the people in the neiborhood. we will stick with 100 people. Over a year. 4 cars are broken into and 2 have a small bumper accident and one completly wrecks shop (This is a really really good neiborhood haha real life is probably much worse anyway). For the 4 broken into say you just have to replace glass at $ 500 each the small bumper to bumper accidents $ 1500 each and the total demolition 20,000. thats about 25000 or so….
So if its worse its going to cost you more.. if someone cheats you its gonna cost you more.. you need lots of cash
oh and don’t forget about 30,000+ to pay your 1 employee. your already looking at 75,000. a year. Thats 750 a year per person person… any other expenses i missed and a neiborhood with a bad year as far as accidents go.. you’d be lucky to break even charging 2,000 per person. The insurance game is tough

Answer by ronald h You have to be damaged in order to successfully sue. Your butt hurts but that will go away in the next day or so. You have no broken bones. You have no medical bills. What are you going to sue for? Your embarrassment over a pratfall? I don’t think you have a cause of action that can be successfully pursued.r
Question by : does USAA also offer car insurance? business loans, small loans? i know its a bank, especially for Soldiers…?
i was wondering if USAA offer car insurance. im pretty young (under 25) and it can be very expensive for car insurance under my name. i was considering buying a car in florida as that is where my license is from and i know its way cheaper than new york state insurance, which is where i may be moving soon(and am originally from). i was going to try the company “the general” but i just joined the National Guard and i hear USAA is great bank for soldiers and offers them discounts etc. also i was hoping of starting up a small business next year (tax business) would they offer me a loan. i have less than perfect credit( about 650 :/).
