Marsh officials and community representatives joined in a Grand Re-Opening Celebration on Thursday, April 3, to commemorate a significant renovation of the familiar grocery outlet located at 5249 East Thompson Road in Franklin Township.

Bill Holworth, Marsh's Chief Operating Officer, said during a formal portion of the celebration that the company had spent $500,000 in renovating the store, which included:

  • Installing new refrigerated and frozen food cases.
  • Resetting some departments and aisleways.
  • Freshening the store with new paint and signage.

Also added was a fresh olive case, from which customers can select different varieties.

Among those offering remarks were Mike Vickery, the store's manager, and Gary Loveless, the Mayor's Neighborhood Liaison for Franklin Township who offered congratulations from Mayor Gregory A. Ballard. Loveless also thanked Marsh for its continued investment in the Indianapolis area, the jobs that Marsh provides and the company's encouragement that communities "shop local."

"Marsh has been a good corporate citizen for many years," Loveless noted. "The new owners of the chain appear to be continuing the tradition."

Connie Gardner, the city's Senior Director of Community Relations, and other dignitaries also were in attendance for the Grand Re-Opening festivities.
