FC unable to get untracked against Roncalli

Defending IHSAA Franklin Central Sectional girls' tennis champion Roncalli waltzed onto the Flashes' courts on Wednesday, April 30, and turned in a dominating performance that might indicate the Rebels will be a major factor in the upcoming post-season.

Roncalli walked away with a 5-0 victory, with the Flashes able to extend only one match beyond straight-set encounters.

Franklin Central's No. 1 doubles tandem of senior Kelsey Pieratt and Jackie Schmaltz divided the first two sets with Roncalli's top duo, senior Brittany Welsh and freshman Morgan Wells, before dropping the pivotal segment 6-3. After losing the opening set 6-4, the Flashes' pair rebounded for a 6-4 equalizer.
