Live Trace is a tool that quickly and easily converts our Raster Image to a Vector Image. For CNC Art, we need Vector Images. We also go over a number of different presets that are available in Live Trace. Most of these we don’t use, but they are available for other projects. Converting images to CNC is hard. Live Trace makes that conversion very easy.

The Chelmsford Christy business was established on this site in 1858 by Fell Christy as seen in the blue plaque photo by @Stuart Axe. Fell Christy married in East London in early 1859. A John Fell Christy was born in Chelmsford in 1861 , Frank Christy in 1865 and a Leonard Fell Christy in 1867. The former died aged 14 in 1875. THere was also a Margaret Fell Christy who married in 1905, b 1871 and who was at a private school in Colchester in 1881 run by a German from Minden called Ferdinand Emilius Groene.(d 1920)
Fell Christy died in late 1918 aged 83., i.e. born c 1835.
His address in 1881 was Coopers Row, Chelmsford., place of birth given as Broomfield, whilst his wife Esther nee Coleman was born in Wickham Market, Suffolk.
In 1881 he employed 38 men and 7 boys in his engineering company
A son Duncan Christy was in 1881 at the Quaker Bootham Friends School in York., aged 14 in the company of Leonard Fell Christy in the company of the offspring of the famous Quaker Sturge family of Birmingham.
The 1901 census lists three Christy brothers
William Coleman Christy, 26, Mechanical Engineer
Frank, 35 Electrical Engineer (Insurance clerk in 1881)
Leonard F 34 Electrical Engineer

The Adam car was made between 1905 and 1914 in Bedford by the Adams Manufacturing Co. Ltd. It was a 9-10 horse power Adams-Hewitt, costing GBP 185 when new in 1906!! Bedford Museum holds an example of the car produced by the americal Arthur Henry Adams from Massachusetts. THere is an Adams Close in a Bedford trading estate.
It was reviewed in the British Medical Journal, 25 Aug 1906, as being suitable for doctors, having a moderate (sic) price. The registered address was 147 Queen Victoria St, London EC (later EC4)
The very first car registered in Singaport, S1, in 1906 was an Adams-Hewitt.

Fallen from Grace: Travelers Insurance

We’ve been their loyal customers for 11+ years, we’ve never even bothered checking for better rates anywhere else, but they’ve fallen from grace. I not longer will recommend them and will tell everyone (including all my blog readers, Flickr friends, and Twitter friends how much I dislike them). We’re looking for a new company for auto, home, business, etc.

Do you love your insurance company? Do you have any horror stories and companies to avoid? Chime in over on my blog. I’d love to hear about it so I can choose a great company to give my money to.

Past accidents and zip codes and what kind of car they drive all factor into what kind of risk the customer presents — i.e., how likely they are to cost you money. Other insurance companies know this and set their rates accordingly.

If you charge all customers the same rate, what you will find is that the good risks go elsewhere (because they can get a better rate) and you’ll be stuck with the bad risks (because your rate will be cheaper for them.) This won’t be good for your insurance company. If you end up raising the rates for the bad risk clients you have left, then you might end up making money, but you’ll be a bad-risk specialist.
